Michael Saylor’s company, Strategy, has once again underscored its unmatched commitment to Bitcoin, revealing that it now controls 671,268 BTC. This amount represents roughly 3.2% of all Bitcoin that will ever exist, placing Strategy in a uniquely influential position within the global crypto market.

According to a company update shared on social media, Strategy has added Bitcoin to its balance sheet every single quarter since Q3 2020, completing a total of 90 separate acquisitions over more than five years. The firm reports a total acquisition cost of approximately $50 billion, with an average purchase price near $75,000 per Bitcoin. At current market levels, Strategy estimates its Bitcoin net asset value at around $60 billion.

Strategy’s Bitcoin Accumulation: From Experiment to Treasury Backbone

What began as a bold treasury experiment in 2020 has evolved into one of the most aggressive and consistent accumulation strategies in corporate history. Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings have grown from just over 38,000 BTC in 2020 to more than 671,000 BTC by mid-December 2025.

The data shows a steady upward trajectory, with accumulation accelerating notably from late 2023 onward. Rather than attempting to time the market, Strategy has followed a disciplined, long-term approach, treating Bitcoin as a core reserve asset rather than a speculative trade. This consistency has reinforced Michael Saylor’s long-standing thesis that Bitcoin represents superior long-term money compared to traditional fiat reserves.

Why Strategy’s Bitcoin Bet Matters for Institutional Adoption

Strategy’s massive Bitcoin position has made the company a bellwether for institutional crypto adoption. Its approach has influenced how corporations, asset managers, and even governments think about digital assets as part of long-term balance sheet strategy.

By demonstrating that large-scale, multi-year Bitcoin accumulation is operationally feasible, Strategy has helped legitimize Bitcoin as a strategic treasury reserve asset. As a result, the company now plays a key role in shaping corporate attitudes toward digital assets, risk management, and long-term capital preservation.

With more than 671,000 BTC under its control, Strategy is no longer just participating in the Bitcoin market—it is actively shaping the narrative around institutional crypto investment and the future role of Bitcoin in global finance.
