Industry Reacts to Rejection of Strict Crypto Regulations
Poland’s President Karol Nawrocki has vetoed the proposed Crypto-Asset Market Act, a bill designed to impose strict oversight and heavy regulations on the country’s crypto sector. His decision has generated strong reactions across political and financial circles, earning praise from the crypto community and criticism from government officials.
Introduced in June, the bill sought to tighten control over crypto activity in Poland, but quickly drew backlash from industry advocates. Critics argued that the legislation was overly complex and risked overregulating the market, potentially blocking crypto-related websites and discouraging innovation. Politician Tomasz Mentzen, a well-known supporter of the crypto industry, publicly foresaw the veto and welcomed the president’s decision.
