Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, has made headlines again by purchasing 21,021 BTC for $2.47 billion, marking its largest Bitcoin acquisition since March. This bold move follows the company’s successful initial public offering (IPO), which has become the largest U.S. IPO of 2025.
IPO Raises $2.52 Billion Through STRC Stock Offering
To fund this major Bitcoin purchase, Strategy sold 28 million shares of its new preferred stock, STRC, at $90 per share. The offering raised approximately $2.52 billion, far surpassing the company’s original goal of $500 million and doubling the size of Circle’s $1 billion IPO in June. STRC is set to debut on the Nasdaq this Wednesday, making it the first U.S.-listed perpetual preferred stock issued by a company focused on holding Bitcoin as a treasury asset.
Strategy Now Holds 628,791 BTC
With this latest acquisition, Strategy’s total Bitcoin holdings have reached 628,791 BTC, purchased at an average price of $117,256 per coin, according to BitcoinTreasuries.NET. This aggressive accumulation strategy continues to set the company apart in the crypto and financial sectors.
Strategy has consistently used a mix of equity, debt, and convertible notes to fund its Bitcoin buys. Its commitment to Bitcoin has influenced more than 160 public companies to add crypto to their balance sheets, underscoring a growing trend of institutional adoption.
To cater to different investor profiles, Strategy has launched a series of income-generating securities including STRK, STRF, and STRD, aimed at income-focused investors. These offerings help the company raise capital while continuing its Bitcoin accumulation strategy.
As STRC begins trading, all eyes are on Strategy’s next move—one that could further cement its role as the most influential Bitcoin treasury firm in the world.
