Binance is set to restrict transactions involving 11 cryptocurrency platforms, including HTX, starting August 23, citing recent regulatory developments. The move could affect users who attempt to send or receive funds involving the listed platforms and service providers.
Binance Announces New Transaction Restrictions
According to Binance, transactions involving HTX, Rapira, Aifory Pro, ABCeX, WhiteBird, NoOnecrypto INC., Tradex, Monease Ltd, BitPapa, Exnode and EXMO will no longer be processed from August 23.
The exchange said transactions attempted on or after the effective date could be held for compliance checks. In some cases, affected wallets may also face temporary restrictions while Binance completes its review.
Binance did not point to a single enforcement action as the reason for the changes. Instead, the company said the restrictions were introduced in response to recent regulatory developments affecting the listed platforms.
For Binance users, the change means transactions involving any of these services could face additional checks or delays. Users should review their planned transfers before the August 23 deadline and make sure they understand how the restrictions could affect their funds.
Why HTX Is Facing Increased Regulatory Scrutiny
HTX, formerly known as Huobi, has recently faced increased attention from international regulators over alleged links to Russia-related financial activity.
The European Union added HTX to a sanctions package targeting Russia in late July. The UK government had previously designated Huobi Global S.A. in May, stating that it had reasonable grounds to suspect the entity supported Russia’s government by providing financial services or making funds and economic resources available to sanctioned entities.
HTX disputed the UK’s allegations, arguing that the designation applied to Huobi Global S.A. as a separate legal entity and that its online exchange and customer funds were not affected.
However, the UK’s Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation later stated that it considers the HTX exchange itself subject to the sanctions because it is owned by Huobi Global.
Binance’s latest restrictions highlight how quickly regulatory actions can affect cryptocurrency transactions across major exchanges. As global regulators continue to tighten oversight of crypto platforms, users may see more compliance checks and restrictions involving exchanges and service providers facing sanctions or regulatory scrutiny.
